Water for Life + Rural Electrification Project

Water for Life + Rural Electrification Project

This project reflects Benedeto’s capability in energy systems that directly support public services. The work involved hybrid solar PV systems for rural health and education facilities, standalone solar systems, mini-grid infrastructure, and distribution networks serving surrounding households.

PV & ESS Capacity Delivered: The project included Type I mini-grids with 44.8 kWp PV and 128–135 kWh lithium battery storage, and Type II mini-grids with 56 kWp PV and 192 kWh lithium battery storage. It also included standalone solar PV systems for 37 health posts, 77 primary schools, and 127 combined school and health post sites.

The project supported electrification for 241+ public institutions, including health and education facilities, and helped connect 2,208 rural households through mini-grid distribution networks. It also strengthened access to cleaner electricity for communities across Oromia, Amhara, and SNNP regions.

Project Focus: Rural electrification, schools, health facilities, mini-grids, standalone systems, public-service infrastructure, household connections, and off-grid energy access.
